For the first time since 2014, passengers can fly commercially in Macon. Contour Airlines now offers nonstop flights from Middle Georgia Regional Airport (MCN) to Baltimore-Washington International (BWI). According to the airport’s website, the British Royal Air Force conducted pilot training at MCN during World War II. Commercial flight operations originally began in 1947, with the passenger terminal constructed in 1959.
