With Halloween getting closer, there are plenty of fall events to enjoy this weekend. The hardest thing you have to do this weekend is choosing which ones to go to.

  1. Interstellar Echoes – A Tribute To Pink Floyd

On Saturday, Oct. 14, Interstellar Echoes, a Pink Floyd tribute band, will be performing at Cox Capitol Theatre. The group prides themselves on researching and performing a classic Pink Floyd performance. The doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. You can visit the Theatre’s website for tickets.

  1. Movie Night on the River

Nothing says Halloween like watching the Halloween classic, “Hocus Pocus”, in Riverside Cemetery. The movie starts at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13 and is free. NewTown Macon encourages participants to come dressed in their best costume and come early to get a good spot. It is recommended that you bring your own lawn chairs, blankets and coolers. There will also be free refreshments while supplies last.

  1. The Metropolitan Opera Live “Die Zauberflöte”

The Metropolitan Opera Live will be showing Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” at the Douglass Theatre on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 12:55 p.m. This will be the full German version of Mozart’s work and you can see it live at the Met without having to leave Macon.   1. Macon Symphony Orchestra

The Macon Symphony Orchestra will be performing their final concert, A Fond Farewell, at The Grand Opera House on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. They will be performing a wide range of music in celebration of enriching Middle Georgia through music for 40 years.   1. Coffee and Canvas

For a more hands-on activity, The 567 Center for Renewal will be hosting a Coffee and Canvas painting class on Saturday, Oct. 14. The class will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the purchase of a ticket will include all required materials as well as coffee. You will learn to paint on an 11 x 14 canvas and no painting experience is necessary. Visit their website for more information and ordering tickets.
