Man Of Style: Footwear For The Cooler Weather

October 25, 2017

The weather is getting colder, so now it’s time to start dressing accordingly, especially where it matters most, on your feet.

What’s best about fall is that your wardrobe will be at it’s most versatile. The cool weather provides the perfect opportunity to pull out all sorts of sweaters, cardigans and jackets that just aren’t suitable for the harsher summer and winter weather.

The mistake that many men make is wearing their same old tired sneakers, when there are plenty of shoes and boots out there that can better match your outfit.

The great thing about these pieces of footwear in this list, is that they can be dressed up or down to be suitable for many occasions.

  1. Chukka Boots/ Desert Boots

The Chukka boot has been a men’s style staple for the longest time. The great thing about these is that they will never not be en vogue.

These boots have been around since they were worn by British infantry during WWII fighting in the deserts of Egypt and Libya. They aren’t going anywhere, so you don’t have to worry about wasting your money on an article of clothing that will be outmoded by next season.

2. Chelsea Boots

These boots have been popular in Europe for decades, and now thanks to the likes of celebrities like Kanye West and Scott Disick, they are finally starting to gain popularity in the states as well.

These boots can be dressed down to go with jeans and a t-shirt, or make a great pairing with a suit.

You can find these boots in both leather and suede. I recommend a suede boot if you plan on wearing them for more casual outfits, and a leather boot for more formal ensembles.

3. Oxfords

Everyone knows that oxfords are the dressiest of all the dress shoes. Having a nice pair of oxfords in your closet is a necessity.

They look great with any style of pants whether they be jeans, chinos or khakis, and despite their revered status in men’s style, they can be dressed down just like the rest of the shoes on this list.

4. Lace Up Boots

The best thing about boots is that they cannot only be rocked during the fall, but they transition seamlessly into the winter season.

Whether it be snow, sleet or hail, a nice pair of lace up boots will get you where you need to be.

If you don’t have any of these staple shoes then I would definitely recommend them. These four pieces of footwear will not only last you through this fall, but for many more to come.
